Marshall Point Light

A wooden walkway leads directly to a Marshall Point lighthouse standing firm by the water’s edge. The composition emphasizes clarity, direction, and the balance between structure and open sea.

Wooden bridge extends,
Silent keeper of the coast,
Sky and sea as one.

This was my first stop on the way to Monhegan Island and I caught the lighthouse in a nice morning light. Of course, this meant that I didn’t get the perspective of the walkway from its left side, which is what people are most familiar with from “Forrest Gump”.
