Tideworn Colors

A pile of old lobster and fishing buoys rests together, their bright colors faded and peeling with age. Once tools of the sea, they now form an accidental composition of shape and color. Silent guardians,
anchored now in tangled rest,
voices of the deep.

Salt-worn and sunburned, the buoys carry the stories of tides long past. Silent markers, once afloat, now whispering of unseen currents.

This photograph captures a cluster of weathered buoys, their chipped paint and bold colors bearing the marks of years at sea. The arrangement is both practical and painterly, evoking the rhythm of coastal life and the enduring presence of the working waterfront.

These buoys are clustered together in the stern of a dory that is being used as a flower box next to the covered patio just above the Monhegan pier.
