Trees Between Worlds
Trees root in both sky and water.
The boundary dissolves, leaving only balance.
This was once the site of an extensive log sorting operation in the days of the Kennebec log drives. The island has expanded since then, perhaps partly on a foundation of submerged logs.
This photograph depicts an island along Maine’s Kennebec River, its trees perfectly mirrored in the calm surface below. The composition blurs the boundary between water and sky, creating a natural symmetry that feels both still and infinite. The image highlights the river’s reflective power and the fragile beauty of landscapes held in balance.
