Last Crane Standing, Hallowell

Here are three views of "The Last Crane Standing" in Hallowell, Maine from January 2024. The city and surrounding quarries were dotted with dozens of these in the granite quarrying days. This one was found by an old quarry in the woods and had been fairly well preserved. Through a community effort it was restored and placed in Granite City Park.

In the upcoming countdown to summer photos, you'll see lots of this crane, the pollinator garden below it, and the busy bees and butterflies doing the actual pollinating.
